The Family Room/Un Centro para Familias recognizes that raising a child is one of the most challenging, important and rewarding jobs. We understand that all parents and families need support and encouragement.
We strive to provide Montgomery County families with the support, information and opportunities necessary to foster the development of children and encourage stronger family relationships. Our center offers a variety of free services and means of support to parents, children, grandparents, foster parents and our community partners.
The Family Room is also a proud member of the PST (Parent Support Team) and MCAP (Montgomery County Allies in Prevention.)
The Family Room Offers:
The Family Room/Un Centro para Familias is a proud member of the New York State Familiy Resource Center Network.
This program is funded, through the New York State Children and Family Trust Fund, a program administered by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. We are also honored to receive funding from the United Way, Stewarts and CDPHP.

The New York State Family Resource Center Network offers early and comprehensive support for parents and caregivers of young children. Our centers programs emphasize building family strengths and abilities in order to maximize the capacity of families to take care of themselves, raise healthy children and contribute to thier community.
Supervised Visitation Services
Supervised Visitation Services are offered through the Family Room as ordered by the court. Visitations range from 1-2 hours a week Monday through Friday. Visitations are supervised by center staff with backgrounds in Human Services and Early Childhood Education. Evening visits are available on a first come first serve basis Mondays and Thursdays. This service is available to Fulton and Montgomery County cases on a sliding fee scale. Prevention Information Resource Center and Parent Helpline 1.800.342.PIRC(7472)
IThe PIRC is an information and referrals service for parents, professionals and other citizens who want to prevent child abuse. The Helpline is available to everyone in New York and operates 24 hours a day in English and Spanish.
